Our loss, Billy Pate

We lost another great fishing legend this week. Billy Pate is someone I respected for many years but never got to meet. But I learned from him. I was introduced to tarpon and knew I wanted to try it. He inspired me! I can still hear him say "always listen to your guide" and "daisy chain" tarpon in his classic fishing video. Who knows how many times I watched it. Billy fed more tarpon a fly and large ones at that. An impressive angler - thank you for all your contributed to our sport of fly fishing.
